I studied 3D Design at Brighton polytechnic and graduated in 1992. Leaving Brighton I decided I needed to move to London to somehow continue with my art journey and eventually found work at Bronze Age sculpture casting studio in East London. I found the various processes and techniques of bronze casting fascinating and worked as a chaser in the metal work department welding and finishing cast bronze sculptures. After a few years working at the foundry and gaining valuable skills I decided it was time to move on.

On leaving Bronze Age I returned to my home town, Burton on Trent in Staffordshire feeling a bit lost and needing a change of direction. I decided to save up some money and take a year out to travel the world with my now wife Niki.

On my return I worked as a model maker while developing my own art practice.

Alongside my visual art practice I’m a musician, play numerous instruments and write music. I formed a band called The Gents and wrote an original album “ Which way to the Future”.

In 2008 finding it difficult to survive from my art alone I trained as a music leader to deliver music workshops in schools. In 2009 I set up in partnership “Pulse for Music CIC” which provides musical workshops and opportunities to vulnerable adults with mental health issues in the community.

In 2010 I had my first child Sophia follow by her sister Eliza in 2012. My personal work took a backseat during this period as I focused on Commissioned and freelance work and building a regular income.

Currently I deliver music projects for “Make Some Noise” music charity on a freelance basis working with vulnerable and disadvantaged children including young careers and looked after children. I am currently working as a musician/artist in residence at St Georges Hospital in Stafford working alongside the Arts for Health team to engage patients in constructive activity. I’ve been resident artist at Pegasus school for a few years now and provide education and care for children between the ages of 8 and 19 years, with Autism, challenging behaviour and complex communication and learning difficulties. I strongly believe that the arts are an effective vehicle to engage hard to reach and the most vulnerable people in society.

I work in a variety of media and styles including sculpture, drawing, digital and painting and have exhibited widely throughout the UK and sold to many art collectors world wide. I have received awards for my work and was a finalist in the “Not the Turner prize” for the painting “The Groom Smoking” ( judged by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Ronnie Wood ) and runner up in the Staffordshire open art competition .

I have a wide and varied portfolio ranging from song writing and band building projects to sculpture/painting commissions and community art projects.
